AUTOMOTIVE TECHNOLOGY

AUTO TECH

Students are introduced to the automotive repair field by using up-to-date diagnostic test equipment, such as Snap-on electronic diagnostics and computerized front and rear wheel alignment in the Automotive Technology class and shop. One of the latest technologies in the  field is represented by the Robinar Electronic Recovery System, which recycles and recharges air conditioning systems refrigerant R-134.

First and second year students are involved in a great deal of live work, that is, work on vehicles taken into the shop for repairs. Repairs, such as battery testing, electrical repairs, brake repairs, and steering & suspension are taught in the classroom and then performed as lifework activities.

Students can work on their own vehicles as it relates to the program of instruction in this two-year program.
